Scrambling in the Lake District with John Fleetwood and Paul Rose
Exploring Lake District scrambles from classic routes to ghyll scrambles
Summary
From classic scrambles on Striding Edge and Pillar Rock to lesser known routes and ghyll scrambles, the Lake District has plenty to offer scramblers and climbers. In this episode of highlights from our Cicerone Live event, Cicerone author John Fleetwood and special guest Paul Rose join us to share their experiences of scrambling in the Lake District. We discussed equipment and experience needed to tackle some of these routes, as well as how to build your confidence as a beginner. As two people who have climbed and explored all over the world, John and Paul spoke about what makes the Lake District unique and why they always look forward to scrambling on these mountains.
Discover more about John's two new guidebooks: Scrambles in the Lake District - North (https://www.cicerone.co.uk/scrambles-in-the-lake-district-north-2) and Scrambles in the Lake District - South (https://www.cicerone.co.uk/scrambles-in-the-lake-district-south-2). John has climbed over 400 different routes in the Lake District, and these two guidebooks feature 200 of those routes.
