Walking the wild edge of America
Stretching 2650 miles from Mexico to Canada, the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is more than just a long-distance hiking route – it’s an odyssey through some of North America's most spectacular and diverse landscapes. This legendary trail, part of the Triple Crown of Hiking (alongside the Appalachian Trail (AT) and the Continental Divide Trail (CDT)), carves a path through desert plains, high alpine passes, dense forests, and volcanic landscapes, offering an experience that is both physically demanding and spiritually rewarding.
Hiking the PCT is a test of endurance, resilience, and determination. From California desert's blistering heat to the Sierra Nevada's snowbound heights and the Cascade Range's lush greenery, every section of the trail presents new challenges and awe-inspiring scenery. The journey is not just about covering miles – it’s about immersing yourself in the wilderness, embracing the solitude, and experiencing the unique camaraderie of the trail community.
For many, the PCT is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, but preparation is key whether you’re aiming for a thru-hike or exploring it in sections. Understanding the best time to hike, choosing the right gear, and planning resupply points can make all the difference between success and struggle. This is where the right resources come into play.

To support hikers on their journey, we've created our most ambitious guidebook yet: Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, a three-book set designed to provide everything you need, whether you’re planning your first steps or navigating a challenging stretch of trail.
Unlike a single, bulky volume, this lightweight and modular guidebook is divided into three essential parts: a planning guide and two detailed map booklets. The planning guide (130g) covers everything from permit requirements and suggested itineraries for thru-hikers to essential gear advice and insights into the history and wildlife of the Pacific Crest Trail. It’s the perfect companion for pre-trip preparation.
Once on the trail, the two map books –one for the southern section (200g) and one for the northern section (170g) – provide detailed waymarked routes, 1:100,000 topographic maps, and essential information on campsites, water sources, and resupply locations. Designed for flexible planning, these books break the trail into 100 manageable 1–3 day stages, making them ideal for both thru-hikers and section hikers tackling shorter portions of the route.
With this comprehensive yet compact set in your pack, you’ll be confident to take on one of the world’s greatest hiking challenges. Whether you dream of completing the thru-hike after months on the trail or simply want to experience a few unforgettable miles, the Pacific Crest Trail is waiting to be discovered, one step at a time.
